EBT Billmeyer & Smalls 30,000 lb. Capacity Coal Dumps

CAD drawings by Greg Vaughn of the East Broad Top Railroad & Coal Company Coal Dumps built by Billmeyer & Smalls of York PA and EBT. These eight-wheeled, wooden cars had a capacity of 30,000 lbs and were acquired as early as 1882.

These highly detailed drawings include two coal dump variants, the original 30,000 lbs capacity version, and a modernized version with stubbed frame, reinforcing plates, raised coupler height, shoulder boards, automatic couplers, and safety appliances. The cars were essentially "built" in CAD based on typical B&S/EBT practices and photographs. Five drawings are available:

• dimensioned side, end, and top views of the original version
• dimensioned side, end, and top views of the original version in color
• nine-panel isometric views of details of the original version in color
• dimensioned drawings for major pieces of lumber and table of other lumber for the original version
• dimensioned side, end, and top views of the modernized version

Each drawing is 12x18 inches, printed on 18x24 inch paper and shipped rolled in a mailing tube.
